As a new watercolor artist, I am exploring new methods and techniques. This was my first attempt at Line and Wash. Old doorways in Europe fascinate me. The textures, colors and history are so unique. This doorway was in the Balearic Islands, Spain. Original photo credit: Monica Volpin.

Title or Location: Posies in August
As I was making my way through an unrelated tutorial, I relished these cool colors that seemed to sweep away the August heat. After 4 tries, I was not connecting with the subject in the lesson, so I took a break. I decided to use the colors in my palette to freestyle a little, and in minutes, these flowers were born. I immediately felt their calm. It shows that we all have our own style within us, and that's where we find our art.
